- Sam and George are always the same age when we find them in censuses. Since it appears they are twins, I have given them the birth date I have for Sam. A grandson of Sam is the source for the birth date. The Alabama census dated August 1, 1860 does not list George or Sam. This would indicate that they were born in 1861, or the month of the census is incorrect. I think the month on the census is incorrect.

- Sam and George are always the same age when we find them in censuses. Since it appears they must be twins, I have given them the birth date I have for Sam. A family member is the source for the birth date. The Alabama census dated August 1, 1860 does not list George or Sam. This would indicate that they were born in 1861, or the month of the census is incorrect. I think the month on the census is incorrect.

- Until we found death certificates for the three children of Ida (Foster) & James W. Orum, we had nothing on James. Since finding their children with their maternal grandparents in the 1900, Cooke County, Texas census, we feel both James and Ida died prior to that time. We do feel this is the family of our James W. Orum.
